Each earring contains a real cicada wing, preserved for eternity inside hand-set archival resin glass. Every vein, every delicate membrane, every intricate detail that nature spent millions of years perfecting is right there, exactly as it was, suspended in time and set in your ears. No two cicada wings are identical, which means no two pairs of these earrings could ever exist in the world.
The wings are set in sterling silver that has been intentionally oxidized, creating a rich, dark contrast that makes every translucent detail of the wing glow. The backs of the settings are completely cut out so that light can pass directly through the wings from behind, illuminating all of that extraordinary natural architecture the way it was meant to be seen. In the right light, these earrings are simply breathtaking.
Along the side of each wing, three freshwater pearls rest like morning dew, soft and luminous, as if they landed there naturally and decided to stay.
