The Northern Lights don't ask permission to take your breath away.
Neither does this ring.
This one-of-a-kind statement ring is the third piece in the aurora borealis collection, and like the pendant and earrings it companions, it carries the sky within it. The top of the ring is a landscape of plique-à-jour enamel, that breathtaking ancient technique in which color is suspended in fine silver with no backing behind it, so that light moves through the piece rather than simply bouncing off it. The colors here are the colors of the aurora at its most dreamlike. Soft greens and aquas, shimmering lavenders, blush pinks, and warm glowing golds, all shifting and deepening as the light changes, as the angle changes, as you move through your day wearing a piece of the northern sky on your hand.
And then there is the fine silver itself.
Where the enamel meets the metal, the silver doesn't recede. It glows, catching and holding light in the spaces between the color, like stars appearing one by one in a darkening sky. This ring does not look the same from any two angles. Turn it slightly and an entirely new landscape appears. The aurora, after all, is never still.
Nestled on each side of the central tube setting are two faceted citrines, warm and golden, sparkling against the cool aurora colors the way a campfire glows against a winter night sky. Citrine carries the energy of warmth, abundance, and joy. Here, it anchors the dreaming colors of the enamel in something bright and grounded and alive.
